[Rapunzel smiles at the feed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear - hair unbraided for once and showing its monstrous length.]

Hello? I was told by Allen that there were supply runs into Credinta and I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind getting me some shoes? The ground here isn't very safe to walk on I've found. But... I have a small problem.

[The feed goes down to her feet, toes wiggling. And yes. That's some hair that you also see nearby, told you it was longer out of the braid, Allen.]

I don't know what size shoe I need. I've never worn shoes in my entire life. So I don't know if there's a way to tell what size I'll need.

[She's about to cut off the feed when...] Oh! And a brush.

[―Oh man, he hasn't? We'll, er, have to fix it soon.]

[firmly:] Positive. [ ...And because he imagines it'll be a hassle to take to the stairs with all that hair: ] I'll bring it up for you, if you don't mind. [ a pondering pause ] Er, will you need more help with that?

[Allen isn't the best candidate, but he's sure Lenalee will be happy to help.]

[She smiles rather warmly.] Thank you, Allen. It's a bit harder than I'm used to to take care of it, I don't have any rafters to hang my hair on.

But I should manage alright once I have a brush! Wouldn't want to bother anyone else.

[R-Rafters? What an image.]

Er, that does sound like quite a fix. If it really bothers you, I don't see why we can't try to set something up, like stringing rope across your room, maybe?

―But I'm getting ahead of myself! Why don't I bring you the brush first?

[She. Is. Batgirl. I dunno.

Looking a bit sheepish.] If it's not too much of a bother for the string, I can put it up myself.

[Rapunzel smiles and nods.] I'll try and move some of my hair away from the door so you can come in. I was given 206 for my room.

[It is an amazing image.]

Not at all! I'll keep an eye out. If we're lucky, I may even find some lying around in the other buildings, even if we'll have to dunk it in the river first.

[Gets up to fetch his brush, finger poised to cut the feed.]

206, right? I'll be there shortly.

[The poor villains wouldn't know how to react!]

Oh, I don't mind cleaning it myself. It's enough that someone would have thought to look for it for me.

[She nods.] I'll be waiting. [And she forgets all about the feed, moving to get her hair out of the way.]

[Notes what she's doing with a sort of interest closer to awe, before cutting the feed unobtrusively and making his way up. Instead of announcing his presence immediately, he lingers outside for a few more minutes to let her get ready ― it never does to barge in on a lady, after all ― then knocks lightly on her door.]

Mi― Er, Rapunzel? It's Allen.

[In the few more minutes that Allen leaves her, Rapunzel has put her hair into a haphazard braid that still stretches a good thirty feet or so but is much more manageable than having it loose. Pascal is sitting on her shoulder with a watchful gaze as she opens the door a bit breathlessly.]

Hello again. [Gestures in the room as she moves out of the way, door opening more.] Won't you come in?

[That'll be Tim eyein' you right back, Pascal, at least until he's distracted by the nice girl you're sitting on. Meanwhile, Allen's doing a fantastic job of not openly staring at her hair. He meant to deliver the brush and leave her to what looks like a long and arduous task, but―]

Don't mind if I do. [ nods at her and heads inside, careful to stepping on her hair ] It sure looks like you've been― Busy.

[skladhg Pascal makes a gurgling noise at seeing Tim. Oh, but she'll enjoy brushing her hair, it's something very relaxing~ She's got it all gathered in one general area so it makes the small room easier to walk in.]

Sorry it's a bit messy, didn't have time to do anything really neat with it. But it's out of the way. [Small laugh.]

[Nah, that dubious honour is reserved for Alma's golem. Tim will just eye you up like steak every once in a while to keep you on your toes.

Allen flicks another glance at Rapunzel's hair, it's hard not to look at it when there's just so much of it.]

[laughing with her, one hand lifted in polite reassurance:] It's alright! You did well enough with it, considering. I wouldn't know how to manage. [ offers her the hairbrush ] But here, this should make things easier.

[Pascal is a pretty sad steak, though. Tim would be better off finding a cow to swallow and go Timbus.

She leaves the door open mostly for the air and to make sure it doesn't get too hot in the room.

Rapunzel shrugs, looking at it.] Growing up with it growing out you kind of got used to it as you went, I guess. But it's useful, having it this long. [Takes it with a smile.]

Thank you again, Allen. Finger combing all of this was horrid.

[Forget Timbus, Allen would jump through hoops for a cow, for half a cow. All of the hoops.]

Useful? [ beat, rubbing the back his head when he remembers himself ] Ah, sorry. I have to admit that isn't the first word I'd associate with it. [ another beat as something else catches up with him ] So you've never cut your hair before?

[Whoa, that explains.]

And you're welcome! I'd imagine it was quite a chore.

[Send Timbus to go hunting on the other side, they might have cows!]

I'd show you but it's kind of tied up at the moment. [She grins at her own little joke.] No, my mother never let me but I didn't mind. Still don't, really.

It was a little bit.

[ an answering grin as he plays along ] It's alright, I wouldn't want you to undo all of that hard work either. Perhaps some other time.

[now have an understated little:] Oh. [beat] Is this a common practice in your world?

Not too much hard work, I've been practicing to get better at it.

[Pauses and shakes her head.] No, everyone at home has shorter hair.

[Oh, erm. Is it because it's 'useful'? Is it a matter of personal preference? Is Miss Rapunzel's mother just being a troll?]

You must get quite a bit of attention, then!

[Not the braid, really. It'll be big and thick when she puts it in a tight braid but she can probably use it loosely braided like this. ~~Horrible troll. She and Cross might get along.~~]

A little bit? [Sheepish sort of laugh] I didn't have to worry about it for the longest time, the attention.

[~~Clearly this means she should show up to up the FML potential.~~]

I wouldn't be surprised if you did, [ as a tactful and perhaps unexpected addendum: ] it's very pretty.

[The easy way he says it, plain and unaffected, makes it clear there's no hidden agenda behind the simple compliment.]

Oh? Did your friends get used to it, then?

[~~Sadly Cross says he has no desire to meet Gothel.~~]

Thank you. [She takes the compliment that way anyway, so sheltered.] I always wondered why it was never like mother's but I like the way it looks.

[Pauses and twists her fingers, sitting on the bed.] I'm afraid I didn't have any friends growing up besides Pascal.

[~~Sadly Cross generally has no desire to meet any woman above the age of 35.~~

Tilts his head slightly at that. Rapunzel's such a friendly girl, it's hard to imagine people wouldn't warm up to her, odd hair length or not. There's just... Something off about her entire situation. A mother who doesn't allow her to cut her hair, somehow not having to worry about it catching attention (for the longest time, she said) even though it's not the norm in her world, and now, 'it was never like mother's.']

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to... That's a shame. I don't see why you would have trouble making any.

[~~Indeed, but it's hard to tell so long as she uses Rapunzel's hair.~~

Awww. So nice, Allen. Still, most of his concern over her situation goes right over her head. She hasn't yet connected the dots and probably won't unless she gets her hands on some paint or chalk again.]

You're fine, Allen. [Smilesmilesmile.] It was just me, mother, and Pascal in our tower. They were all I needed but I've made some friends since then at the Snuggly Duckling.

[Allen, on the other hand, sees those dots very clearly, he's just not sure how to connect them, nor is he entirely certain it'll be a bright idea to do so. Not enough context to go on.]

A... Tower? Wow, I've never met anyone who lives in one. That sounds quite―[ suspicious ]―secluded, but I suppose it's all the same when you go out.

[Assuming the Snuggly Duckling is some kind of establishment in her... Neighbourhood? Can those have towers?]

[Randomly until they make a picture?]

All my life! [Laughs lightly] It's nice enough but it does get lonely.

There's a city nearby but I hadn't been to it until Eugene took me to see the floating lanterns.

[Yes. Hidden ones no one knows about.]

[...Yeaaaah everything about this reeks of nefarious intentions.]

I'd say I can only imagine, but I'm afraid I can't. I'm used to travelling.

[Comes over, stopping several polite steps away to bend down to Pascal's level with a small, encouraging smile.]

Still, it's good to see you've made a fine friend of Pascal. Is Eugene a friend of yours too?

[He remembers that name from her first broadcast.]
